About the Venue:

William D. Hayward Amphitheater

Have you ever been surprised by your own preconceived notions? I will admit that this happened a bit to me when I first discovered the wonderful William D. Hayward Amphitheater, the venue for Eden Music & Arts’ upcoming premier event. You see, it is located at the top of the hill under a beautiful sprawling oak tree with saplings from that tree now taller than their parent. (Many of us can relate to that as well!). Those beautiful oaks and that hill are located in none other than the Lone Tree Cemetery! I have been to this location before: my daughter’s Girl Scout troop helped with the annual veterans’ flag placement one Memorial Day weekend. I couldn’t have imagined at that time the beautiful event space and their vision for events that bring positive memories to the community, and the perfect space for our upcoming Premier Event: "La Bella Vita"!

Ray Ortner, Vice President and General Manager of the Lone Tree Cemetery Association is a personable and generous man with a vision: to celebrate life and create positive memories for our community. Some of the events that have been sponsored here are annual occasions, such as the Holiday remembrance service, Memorial Day program and placement of flags, and the Flag Retirement Program. Others are private events (a recent group had a Shakespeare performance as part of their meeting at the Amphitheater), and public events such as a monthly free drive-in movie night! Many attendees have expressed what a gift this has been especially in recent times. This weekend they continue their monthly movie night with “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, and next month they will show “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”: https://lonetreecemetery.com/events/.

The best way to experience this wonderful space is to see it in person. We are thrilled to have our premier event at the William D. Hayward Amphitheater on June 26, and wish to thank our featured sponsor, the Lone Tree Cemetery Association for their generosity and support. Hope to see you there!
